The Dissident was held in French oak, 37% new, for 18 months. The wine's aromas of ripe blackberries and orange Curaçao mix it up with notes of graphite and fennel. The Dissident's thick, concentrated flavors of dark raspberries and mocha are punctuated by saline and white tea. The Dissident is a defiant hedonist.

Elegant to the core, it's vividly fruit-focused, balanced by vibrant acidity that cools the palate, even as its tart wild berry fruit slowly saturates. This finishes with a tannic crunch and is so appealing, leaving hints of red currant and a tinge of orange peel to linger.
